This detector meets my expectations of a radar detector. Is not annoying and alerts me everytime it detects a signal.
Even though this detector is several years old the cops still use the same radar / laser bands. The detector works awesome. I am genuinely impressed with its performance. It has saved me at least its cost in speeding citations already.
A Little Sensitive and a Few False Readings.....But, I would rather error on that side then get a Ticket!
Works great at a great price
For the price, this product does exactly as advertised! Perhaps it does not come with with all the bells & "whistles", but as a "WHISTLER" product (which I've always stood by because of durability & reliability)... you won't go wrong! Of course you get the "in city" false alerts... they all do... but without exception, this device is perfect & the cost is great... perfect; but, if you desire, go ahead and pay hundreds, get your bells & whistles for the high & over priced "others"... consider this... just what "star wars" technology will yours provide that this one won't... and I have mine at a fraction of your's cost... OH & and MOST of all... if you boast that you have no tickets... well, to date, so do I; it has perform exceptional, just as advertised & expected. In the field it has provided great coverage/protection several times... of course common sense is without saying, but in every incident where detection has been alerted & true, I avoided being nabbed. It's a great product... period!
I like this radar detector it only cost $3.00 more than the one in the store with a lot more features the only thing i don't like is that it is not very loud and on dim no lights come on at all
It was a good price but I guess you get what you pay for. The detectoor doesn't have as much range as they did 20 years ago. Back then you could pick radar up 2 miles away, this one only picks up a couple of blocks away. And that was in the city and on highway mode.
the product never did work. after a week I called Whistler and they told me to ship it back for repair which would take at least 3 weeks. returned the item to my nearest Wal-Mart and since not all Wal-marts carry RDs, went to the nearby Best Buy and bought a Cobra for around $80.00.
I had to return this item, as the blip did not say that it had an auto shut off feature which can turn the unit off while driving, not a goo feature if you miss a signal that it is no longer on.
I ordered on line, installed it in my car and it would not work. Called tech support, went through his instructions to operate the detector, which I had already done. Got my money back.
