I've been using this for 5 or 6 years now...I did not expect it to last that long since it's plastic and the mesh bags looked cheep but it has! It's so simple to put together, easy and VERY convienient to use and I actually had a really nice metal and canvas one at one point which did not hold up so well, and the bags were very complicated to get back onto the metal handles every time I did a load... (beacause I wash the bags too... with EVERYload! to keep them fresh!) well, bottom line, the bags have gone through the wash a million times... ( but NOT the dryer! I air dry them on the hamper!) I usually overfill the bags, belive it or not the mesh can hold 1000 X it's weight!!! And my son used to help me with the laundry bags when he was a toddler by dragging them accross the floor... throwing them down the stairs, playing "potato sack race" in them, and even loading them up with his trucks and carrying them around the house!!! My son would even climb on the "flimsey frame"! This is one cheep piece of junk that really lasts and holds up!!! I got my first one so long ago, that it was only $12 ... the price has doubled... but that's O.K.
I have had this product for several weeks, and I love it. I bought two so that I can sort the laundry for my family of five, and I can do a different load everyday. The mesh bags seem very durable, and they can hold a large load. Plus, the bags are washable, so I can throw them in with the wash. The frame was so easy to assemble, and it feels very sturdy. I read some of the other reviews where some consumers mentioned the problems they had with the frame coming apart, but I pushed the rods into the joints as far as they would go, and the frame shows no signs of weakening. In fact, my two year old even climbs on it. I love this product!
This is a great produt to help get your laundry organized. It went together in less than 10 minutes without any tools and it helps me sort whites, Darks and Reds so I have only the small load to bring to the laundry room and back forsmall loads. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who has the room and desire to organize before you get to the washng machine.
Light, easy to assemble, fits in closet, bags are washable and you can see through them so you know when thy're full. A Good Sorter. Note: When you put it together, make sure all the little tabs on the 4 corner pieces are horizontal or your bags will fall off often. The tabs keep the bags up.
I bought this because it was a great design, easy to separate darks, whites, and brights ahead of time. However, I was ready to throw it out three days after I bought it because I couldn't breathe on it without it falling apart! I fixed this easily with a $2.50 can of PVC glue. Since I've done this I've had no problems at all. It easily rolls from bathroom to laundry room when it's time to do a load, or I can simply pull the one bag from it and carry it to the laundry room. In response to the other customer who complained of the bags falling out when they get too full - don't let them get that full! These bags will hold a large load. With a little troubleshooting, this product has been indispensable in my household. In fact, I bought two!
Pros: easy to assemble; good for sorting - mine had two blue mesh bags and a white one; it also has wheels that roll well on hard surfaces (not carpet); mesh bags can be washed and are strong enough to use to carry laundry to the machine; one full mesh bag = one large load; adjustable draw strings. Cons: because of the plastic construction, it is not as sturdy as I would like; the adjustable draw strings on the mesh bags don't always stay where you set them - they tend to slip through the adjuster and lose their tension; the most important con is that the side bags do NOT stay on the sorter. The middle bag stays on well because of the four hooks in the middle of the sorter. However, the side bags only have two hooks in the middle of the sorter to attach to. On the corners of the sorter there is nothing for the bags to hook on to. When empty, they are fine, but as soon as you add clothes, the side bags slip off the corners of the sorter and are useless. My husband added some screws to the corners of my sorter and now the bags hold great. I would NOT recommend this product unless you plan on adding a screw to each corner.
While the laundry sorter is a great product for my laundry needs, there could be a slight adjustment to where the bags hook up on the top. The way they are set up in the directions allows for them to sometimes come dislodged from the frame, causing the laundry bags to fall. Besides this slight difficulty, I am very happy with the laundry sorter.
It was inexpensive and its great for keeping whites separate from the colors, but it constantly falls apart. I even tried crazy gluing it, and the bars still twist, which releases the bags, and then they fall out and the whole thing collapses. We usually just keep the bags on the floor and fill them there, so you can certainly find less expensive bags if you are going to do that.
This product was way to flimsy....I took it back to the store immediately. I put it together and as soon as I throw the 1st piece of laundry in, the bag came down. The bags are very narrow. Just a total waste of money.
I had got this for our house thinking that this would be best so that the kids could have there own section for there dirty clothes. Well it didn't go as planned for a few reasons. first the thing is it's not great if you have kids since it's so easy to come apart. Then if you put to much in it then the bags will fall on the floor do to lack of support. Then if you don't keep them leveled in weight again the bag with the clothes with it falls to the floor or worse it breaks. WE had it for about two weeks and it did no good i was better off buying the kids there own basket and for now on i will.
