Although this product is designed to photograph wildlife, it does a great job of taking pictures of humanoids approaching my front door. A great security tool. The company has recently extended its warranty to a full year.
We were just wanting to see what kind of wildlife we have. The camera was the right price, and takes really great pictures. We will probally purchase more of them. We have only used it for 3 weeks now. Just go by the directions and you'll love it!
The quality of the pictures is unbeliveable. I hope to use this for many years to come.
I had the wildview 3.0 for years until a bear got into it. I immediately bought the 5.0 and started using it. The camera takes good pictures, a little grainy but not the worst I've experienced. I am happy with the trigger speed also. One drawback is the battery life is short lived, I am looking into getting an external battery. All things said great camera for the money compared to others I have tested.
Have not had time to evaluate all the features, but so far so good, see attached photo taken buy the camera.
I'm a little disppointed in the extreme 5 camera. First off I discovered that using it for night shots gave me two problems. No 1- The flash will not cover more then @10 feet. No 2- Flash washes out the subject @2 to 8 feet, but I did discover that taping a peice of paper towel to the flash defuses the light enough to correct this problem. No 3- If camera is placed at night where there are a lot of animal activity, the batteries will go in a hurry. Camera is well built and takes very good HD photos. Also very friendly operations. Over all not bad for the cost.
Pros: Weatherproof, excellent battery life (4+days and did not need changing), simple set-up. Cons: Flash washes out subject B/C motion detector works at about 10 feet. (use paper towel to mask the flash, no adjustment on motion sensor range.) Slow shutter speed- subject can blur, slow reaction time. (burst mode takes multiple shots w/ seconds interval (+or-).) over all, it is a nice device.
I purchased this camera and tried it, but I returned it after three days. It is simple to set up, and the pictures are of good quality. Trouble is, I live in central Texas, it is the third week in August and it is HOT AS BLAZES here. The motion detector quits working in late morning as soon as the temperature gets into the high 90s, and because the afternoons can be over 100 for long periods (now about 60 days and counting), it is early the next day before the air and surroundings cool enough for the detector to start working again, so the camera actually functions for a maximum of only about eight hours each day. To test it, on the third night about 11 pm I went outside in my drawers and did a belly dance in front of the camera, and nothing at all happened. Then I got a slab of ice off my icemaker and waved that in front of the camera, and the flash went off and the camera took a very nice photo of the ice in my hand. The motion detector does not have a sensitivity adjustment that might help to overcome this problem, so the camera appears to be unacceptable for use in places where outdoor temperatures hover around triple digits over long periods. However, for those of you who need a trail camera only in cool weather or who live in the northern parts, first, you have my sympathy, and second, it might be a good, basic camera at the right price.
