I live in the country surrounded by trees & mountains so I have never been able to get a cell signal, until now. I hooked up the atenna & was hoping to at least get one bar on the cell phone but to my surprise I get 3 bars most of the time & at least 2 bars all the time. This is really worth the money I paid for it. I have been able to cut the landline down to a basic phone only & am saving money now. The atenna was easy to install & worked instantly. I can't say enough on how great this is. The only draw back is the price but I think it will pay for itself shortly.
Good instructions, everything you need contained in kit. Went from 1 bar off and on, to 3 bars inediately. Not yet properly installed - cable just attached and stretched across porch. Only negative so far is that it appears that you must be quite close to inside antenae when using phone. This is with keeoing in mind that it is a "desktop model ' and that the instalation is not completed. We may wish we had bought the large house model.
Our house is concrete and stucco so we had only one bar or none anywhere in the house. We now have three to four bars through out. I mounted the unit on an outside wall about a foot below the eve. Hardest part was routing the cable through a hot Florida attic in the summer time.This item works as advertised and gives us reliable cell service.
If you want to receive cell phone reception at your deck, this product is great. If you want to receive cell phone reception throughout your house, you need another product. I recommend calling Wilson Electronics BEFORE you purchasing any item, so that they can direct you to what you need, and not just make a sale. I bought this item, hooked it up. I worked great. but was not what i needed. I returned it and got what I did need. Still have to hook up the new kit.
As I read past reviews and write my new ones, I always like to comment on different things that people may not have mentioned to help give additional ideas. I have a weekend lake cabin that has poor cell reception that made any phone call impossible or any data connection limited. This product did truly change that for me! I used the product for a couple of weekends using the window mount feature until I was sure that I wanted to keep the product and then recently did the full permanent mount on my existing outside TV antennae. The number of bars increased. Not to the maximum but enough to make a very strong phone call or a stronger data connection. I frequently use the Personal Hotspot feature on my iPhone 4 and this product made those connections much stronger. This package came with both a 20 ft and 30 ft coaxial cable (with connector) so I truly had all of the parts needed to install this unit. If you will be permanently installing this unit, you may need a ½ inch drill bit to drill a hole big enough for the coaxial cable to fit through. A final note – I ask people often if a particular product were to break, would they replace it. For this product, I have to say that if it did break tomorrow that I would turn around and order another system again as I like it that much. Thanks!
I loved the free shipping with the ship to store. I could have gottes the same product somewhere else, but then would have incurred shipping charges. The product was also more expensive compared to the Walmart price when I did comparison shopping for the best price.
Since my husband works from home often and he is on the phone constantly, we had to do something to improve the cell phone reception at our house. This system was not easy to install. (My husband had to make several trips into the attic and run wires/cables down through the wall.) But after it was all hooked up, we do have much better reception. We went from dropped calls all the time to having 3 bars on our cell phones!
This device improved my Verizon cell signal in my living room & bedroom area from zero bars to three bars. I do not have to stand by the loft window in the front of the house to make/receive calls anymore... I purchased this item from Walmart in case the performance was not worth it and if I needed to return the item without a hassle.
Worked as advertised. Helpful to watch installation video prior to installing. We are off the grid 4.5 miles in the mountains from the cell tower. Got the magnetic cours off of Google Earth between cabin and tower and pointed antenna directly at tower. We now get between 1 and 3 bars where before we had no service. Have it hooked up to solar with battery and inverter, works great.
I bought this product thinking it wasn't Gona work. but hoping it was. but to my surprise, it actually wrks great! I went from 0-1 bars to now getting 3-5! I just wish the signal would be like that throughout the whole house. but ilk take what i can get!
