My mom bought this for her candle business and the molds came out amazing! They aren't meant to make attached - It's a 2 piece mold that you make separately. That's why the 2 pieces aren't meant to be connected. When making them in chocolate, the easiest way for them to pop out (or for any mold using chocolate) is to place them in the fridge or freezer for 2 hours solid. They then pop out with no problem. I purchased 1 mold for my 14 yr old daughter and I to have some fun. It has taken a little practice (about 4-5 cupcakes worth) but we now seem to have the hang of it. We have been able to make some adorable cupcake containers to give as treats. The plastic mold did crack at the flange (edge) but it hasn't effected the finished pieces. Getting the bottoms off of the mold is the most difficult, but if you push gently in/through the center that seems to help break the suction. Good luck and enjoy!
I was so excited when I found this mold. I made 18 cupcakes for Mother's Day and ended up with only 3 totally in tact. Then I tried it again, leaving it in the fridge longer and then putting it in the freezer for 2 minutes. And again they broke apart when I was trying to release them. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Has anybody had the same experience? I really think these are adorable, but just don't have much success.
Horrible experience with this product!! I could not get the chocolate off the mold. I tried crisco and baking stray and I had NO success. The plastic broke on the sides and as I was trying to twist the chocolate off I cut myself. I called wilton for my money back on the mold and for the chocolate that I melted to try and attempt this project and they are kindly giving me $15.00 credit on any item(s) on there website.
Nice mold but... im dissapoint by the mark each arround end side when arrived to me the stapler mark with it, i wouldn't buy it if i know, so unsmart worker!!!
I was excited when I found this mold. Emphasis on 'was'. This product is a disaster. The tops of the cupcake candies come of the mold fine, but the bottoms either break or the mold does when trying to remove them. I have used a lot of Wilton, as it was my favorite brand. Again, 'was'.
