I misread the bag and didn't realize this was fondue chocolate rather than melting chocolate (for dipping candies in, for example). Still served its purpose, thankfully, and melted quickly and smoothly.
Follow directions on the bag and you should be good to go! I would recommend this product to anybody. This was an excellent purchase. Just dump the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe container, snap the lid shut and pop that sucker into the microwave and in a short time you will have gorgeous, lovely, oh-so-delicious melted chocolate for your chocolate fountain! Make sure you use 50% power on your microwave per directions on bag as scorched chocolate does nobody any good! To save time at your event, melt your chocolate ahead of time and then bring the newly-formed chocolate (in the container you melted it in the day before) to where your chocolate fountain is at the time of your event and then a half hour before the fountain should be turned on remelt your chocolate in your microwave oven. Don't bother trying to melt chocolate in a double-boiler system with those sterno cans or waiting forever to melt chocolate in the chocolate fountain at the rate of one pound per hour when the chocolate fountain needs four pounds to operate! Who has that kind of time? Just use the microwave oven and be done. It is OK if after melting, the chocolate dries and then takes the shape of the container it was melted in, but the advantage here is that the chocolate will take a lot less time to get ready for your fountain if you melt your chocolate ahead of time as opposed to waiting until the time of the event to start melting your chocolate in its original form, which is the chocolate chips straight out of the bag. You might run out of time and then people will be stuck standing around waiting for chocolate to melt. Trust me, this will be a big time-saver.
