One of the simplest pretty cakes that I have made. You can use it all times of year. I originally bought it for the 4th and then used it for Ramadan and New Year.
Super easy to decorate. One of the girls that I keep had decorate this for a fourth of July celebration.
I rate ALL of Wilton's products five stars. Have used Wilton for several years baking, and decorating for my own child, family and friends. There is none any better...will forever be thankful that I found you almost 30 years ago. This star pan was used at christmas to make an ice form....I filled it with cranberries, and distilled water, and froze. Served boiled shrimp ontop of the fancy ice form... always... anytime I have used Wilton...it's a hit! The possibilities are endless with tihs pan. From a star to a body to a base of a much bigger design, this cake is a must have in your baking pans. Cooks evenly with minimal effort. Luv this pan!
I love this pan... it says any 2-layer cake mix. I chose to use about 1 1/2 pkgs. cake mix to have a taller star after I leveled it off. It took about 20 mins. longer to cook. A picture says a thousand words but I don't know if I can post a picture... anyways, the star shape has so many possibilities with a little imagination!
I absolutely love this pan. I am into celestial themed things so I love the star. I've also used it to make a flower. The strawberries and blueberries are a great idea with the star for the 4th of July I will definitely be making that this year.
I originally bought this pan to make a star cake that had sliced strawberries around the edge, white icing as the middle layer, and blueberries in the center (for red, white, and blue). It was for the 4th of July. If you follow the cake instructions that come on the insert inside the pan, you CANNOT mess this cake up! Unless you forget that it's in the oven. The cake came out beautifully! It can back a WHOLE box of cake mix! A word of warning, it took the cake for to back for about 40 minutes for me. Of course, each oven is made different, but be warned. It will take some time for the cake to back. Only use this pan when you have ample time to bake and decorate!
I purchased this pan to re-create the top layer of my friend's wedding cake for their 10th anniversary. This pan was great! I used the Wilton Raspberry Swirl Butter Cake recipe with fantastic results. The cake baked beautifully and evenly. Highly recommend this shaped pan.
The Star Pan is great for a 4th of July barbecue or any Patriotic holiday. It comes with different patterns and designs you can use for the cake. The patterns are easy to follow the only hard part is dying the icing red and blue.
