I read the reviews and decided to order this anyway. I followed directions, and it worked perfectly the first time. For the second and third batches, I did not regrease the mold or clean the mold, and those batches unmolded just as well. I am thrilled with the results. My husband likes the recipe - I can't wait to try some different fillings.
I received this cookie shot glass pan as a Christmas gift from my daughter,I love , love , love it..made chocolate chocolate chip cookies in it last night.they came out perfect...the key is to drop 2 tablespoons of cookies dough(/I use a 2 tablespoon cookies scoop ) in the bottom of the pan and push the center piece straight down in , bake about 18-20 min. When done baking cut off the ruff edges and keep for crumble topping , remove from pan and cool on cookie sheet .fill with desired filling and enjoy ..
Love this and will keep trying. I made the chocolate chip cookie recipe. And coated with 1 coat of melted chocolate. Leaked, so coated with melted chocolate again and worked perfectly!! Want to do it again for a party coming up. Might try sugar cookie recipe with chocolate mousse or ice cream. PS - my husband ate every last one, I made 12....
So I decided to give it a shot *wink wink, nudge nudge* i used my shortbread recipe from college and it worked fine. i noticed the inserts were taller then the pan pieces so i left about a centimeter above so i could have a decent sized bottom. the dough did rise up out of the pan however climbed rather then splooging. My issues are this; in order to get the cookies out, i had to freeze them in the pan then pry the inserts and cookies out then wait for the cookies to defrost in order to remove the inserts secondly it's a pan that only makes six at a time DX this is a super long process to only come out with six. i have muffin pans, mini and basic, that fill an entire rack of the oven. I would like to know if there's an easier way to get them out of the pan without destroying the cookies and without waiting for them to freeze. also making a pan that'll make more then 6 at a time wouldn't be a bad idea, just sayin'
I bought this last month and tried it out on my grandchildren, aged 3 and 6. Whist they loved the idea that they could eat the cup, the recipe was not all it could have been and, whilst they ate the mousse filling eagerly, they did not like the cookie cup. The product itself was of a good quality and easy to use. Maybe a different recipe, or a more spongecake based cup would be better?
I bought this after eyeballing it for so long at Michael's. I used my homemade cookie recipe. I tried it a few different times with a different amount of dough each time. They always rose above the mold and spilled out everywhere. The inserts were pushed up and crooked. I tried varying cooking times and temps, with no luck. If anyone has any tips, please let me know. I'm super disappointed with this product.
This is a great idea and is ALMOST a great product. Like others, the plungers get pushed out when baking which changes the shape of the final product. This design needs an upper plate that is stamped into the shape of the plungers with standoffs on the corners that prevent the top plate from going too far down the bottom pan and also act as an alignment device producing a perfect product every time. I used a hole saw and pop rivets to make a proof of concept. It's ugly as can be but it works! Wilton, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this product better! I would buy 100 of these pans if you did! Everyone else would like it too! In fact, I would love this design if it produced 24 shot cups.
I was very excited when I found this item, I couldn't wait for the right occasion to try it out. I bought 2 pan sets so I could make 1 dozen at a time. 1st, the cookie dough overflowed the cavities and pushed the inserts up, leaving the walls of the "shot glasses" uneven; thick on one side and thin on the other. 2nd, pushing the inserts all the way down, left the bottom of my shot glasses so thin, they were almost transparent...those that came out of the molds intact. Most of the shot glasses came out broken and unusable. I tried home made cookies and 2 different store bought refrigerator cookies, all with the same results. Very disappointed in this Wilton product.
SO excited to try this but agree with another review. The dough rises and pushed the middle piece sideways and they are hard to get out and when i did they had holes in them because the middle part was pushed around. I will try again but can't see how it will work like the photos???
After several trys, I only had a couple useable cups. The cups are almost impossible to properly fill and most had holes after baking. I gave up. I am an experienced baker and cake decorator and found these to be an interesting idea that does not work.
