What used to take sometime hours to set up the satellite dish even in the rain is now down to minutes. It's strange to watch this satellite antenna move when you change channels. The signal strength is many times stronger than with the standard dish antenna. You might have to move the antenna to clear obstacles but the rest is automatic. I love this antenna.
Best satellite i've ever purchased.
I had a Playmaker and this is a bit bigger, but the better signal strength and the ability to also pick up the eastern arc sats is why I wanted to get this one instead. So far it seems quick solid. I've not been able to test is very signal challenged environment yet but I expect it'll make a difference because Antenna size, in terms of matching the physical wavelength of the frequency being received, is directly correlated to signal strength.
This is my second pathway. The first one went glitchy after about a year. It would work great for awhile but then lose the signal and have to be moved or reset. It is expensive and time consuming to send it to Iowa for trouble shooting. Anyway my neighbor had one and after talking to him and finding out his was flawless I decided to take a chance on a new one. Thus new version is absolutely flawless for three weeks now. My only problem is that I am going through troubleshooting withdrawal! :)
We think that it is too large and too heavy to store in an RV and also too slow to change channels.
For this price I assumed it came with the receiver. For $50 less I could have got the dish and the receiver on Amazon!
