My little brother just completed the 3x3... got him this for Christmas. He loved it!!
Day delivery, the only thing I don't like that the cube colors are stickers and I thought it didn't come like that.
I bought the Rubik cube for a 7-yr old girl who is gifted in math and science...yes you heard right This is a kid that would rather read, solve math problems than play with dolls. I do hope she will be as excited by it as I was decades ago when it was a brand new PUZZLE for the whole Europe and the world for that matter.
Even though I am a big fan of the rubiks cube, the 5 x 5 is difficult at times to rotate/turn. The good news is that at least all the pieces/cubes are still in place, and have not fallen apart.
It's the kind of rubik's cube that has stickers on it, so be careful if you let kids play with it. Also, it may SEEM to be a little cumbersome at first. But after working the cube around for a while it gets pretty easy to move. Overall good cube. And, you know, after you learn how to solve this "professor's cube", all the higher sizes are pretty much the same, it just takes longer :)
For the price I paid I would expect permanent colors like the 3X3, not stickers.
When I first got the 5x5 it was tough to turn, and it jammed/locked up. After using it for 2 days now its too loose and still jams/locks up. Also the stickers are peeling off after just 2 days of use. Really disappointed in this cube, but if you want to buy it be gentle with it.
My son bought this using his hard-earned money and is VERY disappointed. We would return it, but didn't save the packaging. Despite the "Rubik's" name, the colored squares are actually stickers that started to peel off within 3 days. Also, the middle squares try to twist and pull out of place (nearly breaking the cube). A huge disappointment and a waste of money!
Several of plastic colored squares fell off the 1st day we used it. We returned the item.
