We bought this slide a month ago for our daughters (9 and 6 years old). We wanted a water feature for the kids without having something permanently on the lawn for the season. They absolutely love this slide. They love the curve and the height is enough that they will not grow out of it too soon. In addition to the slide, the water gun at the bottom, the wading pool and basketball net gives them more activities. Our neighbors who are older (5th and 6th grades) came over and the slide held their interest as well. It is sturdy enough for an adult to climb up as well. There are some bubbles which form around the base of the stairs from air leakage which is a little troubling. The manual says this can happen. I am not sure if this is a problem or not yet. It definitely is worth going bigger on the slide so that the kids will still be interested in it as they get older. Set up and storage is fairly easy. However, the slide is large and is heavy - my husband has to do it.
I bought this slide a few weeks ago for my 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son. Of course my 1 year old is too young to get on it but he loves to play and splash around in the pool. He actually went down the slide a few times in my lap. My daughter loves to play on the slide. She has been begging ever since to get back on it but we have had some cool weather and she hasn't been able to. A friend of mine and her 2 year old even got on it as well. You will need to find some sort of storage container for it b/c it will not fit back into the bag it came in. But it is so much fun! I can only hope and pray it last for a few years!
my grandchildren have been here and used this everyday for a week. My two grown sons also spent some time enjoying it, and it has been great having this summer "vacation" in our own backyard. We decided it was cheaper, and less maintenance then an in ground pool we had priced. At some point, it has run for 3 and 1/2 hours at a time. We are very satisfied with this wonderful, fun, product.
This slide is the best investment we ever made! My son and his friends love it! The only issue that we have come across is that in the SC heat, it gets a little soft and pliable. After a few minutes of having the water run on it, it gets more stiff and works great! Even my 17 year old daughter and myself have played on it and have a blast!
The grand kids were mad because I did not want to open our pool this year. Too much cost and work, plus it needed a few parts. We agonized over whether spending $500 for the Banzai was worth it, but I can tell you that it is one of the smartest moves we have made in a long time. It set up so easy, it blew me away. 3 minutes after opening the box, it was up. Ten minutes later the water was hooked up and it was the hit of the "End of School Year" party, attended by kids from the 2nd through 7th grades. We do not use it everyday and it folds back up small enough to go in the shed or basement.
This is our third waterslide. 1st Banzai brand: left out durng the winter due to us being ill a so it rotted, our fault. it was a great banzai racer water slide. 2nd one: bought from costco. second time we used it, it blew a seam and can't be repaired. THIS ONE: Banzai. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. the curve that the kiddos slide down is the BOMB and the pool of water at the bottom is good enough for my six year old to swim across. she is 43" tall. I'm posting this as some say that Banzai mis-represents the size of their water slide. In this photo you can see my DH walking around it, he is 6'3" tall. THIS WATER SLIDE IS HUGE.
After reading the reviews I chose this slide and I do not regret it! Four boys, ages 8-7-6-5 years old and adults from 120 to 145 pounds had a great time cooling off. We even squirted baby shampoo on the slide for extra slide and lots of bubbles - the kids love this slide and so do we! The only down side: The netting in the top traps insects that were hunting for water and a couple of the little ones were not happy about the bugs and I would have to climb up and get them out.
The inflatable slide is MUCH bigger than it looks in the pictures. We got it for our son's 8th birthday party and all of the kids loved it. As they were leaving, they chanted that this was the best birthday party they've been to ever! We had between 8 and 12 kids playing in the thing all at once - ages 2 to 12. Mostly boys and they can get rowdy. Even our 15 year old son got in and went down the slide a few times; he's about 5'9", 195lbs. RECOMMENDATIONS: Organize the kids to climb up one at a time - water overflows and leaks out if you have too many kids going up at once. And clean-up is definitely a two person job! I recommend re-inflating it once you get all the water out to ensure it dries completely before you put it away. CONS: My only issue with this product - the storage bag is a flimsy material and too small. You would never be able to fit the slide into the storage bag or even back into the original box after taking it out. For the hefty price, they should provide a bigger, much sturdier bag; people who spend as much on a water slide will want to keep it protected and get as much long-term use out of it as they can. We ended up wrapping it in a giant tarp to keep it protected and sticking it into the garage because we couldn't get it back into the box even after folding it as small as it would go.
After receiving the item, it was erected quite easily. Just unroll, plug in and turn it on. It filled up with air in about 45 seconds. The kids eyes were popping out of their heads. I ordered this for my daughters 6th b-day party. She had about 8 little girls over. They loved it and it was the hit of the party. Now, 2 weeks later, we go to blow it up again and notice that the seam on the step area (just below ladder climb) is coming apart. It's not bad right now, but it is affecting the total pressure on the entire unit. My son, who is 12 climbed up top and it sank down about two feet. I will be contacting Wal-Mart to see what they want to do about it. Overall, a very nice toy for the backyard. Not sure If I just got a bad apple or if others are experiencing this same issue. My thoughts are.... If it can't hold up to 8 little girls playing on it, then it isn't very durable at all. For what is cost to own one of these, you'd think my children could use it for more than two weeks.
When we first set up the slide all 3 of my children, ages 11,9 & 4 LOVED it....it was so much fun and kept them busy for hours. After the 3rd time of use, we noticed it was not blowing up and getting as solid as the 1st three times and the yellow curve was floppy. Much to our dismay the seams on the bottom of the slide were all splitting...there were about 3-4 seam splits ranging in 2-4 inches. Much to our disappoinment we will be returning the slide to our local Walmart. However, we do wish to purchace a new one. If the new one is NOT defective and the return process is simple and fast enough, then I will update my review
