There are decorative holes punched on the top of the shoe into the design, unfortunately, the holes go too far to the toe end, consequently they cannot be worn with bare feet, only with socks, because one's toe nails catch in the holes when you walk. I'll keep the, but have to only wear them with socks. They are also a bit stiff. The liner has a grid pattern and is a little rough to wear, even with socks.
