This stool allows me the freedom to quilt all day on my longarm quilting machine. It rolls easily but not too freely with the optional hard-surface castors. Very comfortable. Perfect solution when standing for long periods is difficult and stool height is important. Easy to adjust both seat and foot rail.
Assembled easily, no additional tools necessary. Works well, very solid and moves around easily. Exactly what I was looking for!
I can't stand for long periods of time. So after a little research talking to other quilters and online, the ONE solution that everyone raved about was this saddle chair. They were right! It's perfect for longarming. I now can sit comfortably for long periods as I quilt.
I've checked out every Saddle-type stool that I could find, and this one is the tallest. Because it ranges from 22" at its lowest (good for my Mgr's desk), to 33" - which is perfect for our "standing" workstations too! It's comfortable, but definitely not "cushy". It's great for posture, but there IS a period of adjustment using new muscles. :-)
I use the stool primarily at my computer for spinal support . I have been using a Fitness Ball (75cm) for the past 6 years after a bad accident fallowed by a spine surgery. My new cat is now nearly a year old and plays with the ball when I am away and it is the third new ball I buy in 3 months it is getting costly so I decided to look on the net for a chair/stool good for my posture as well as my spine. The closest was your this stool. A bit hard to sit on at first being used to the ball but the posture is the same. Great buy !! Thanks! Needs more advertising !!!!!
I bought this stool after recommendations by other quilters. It is used for quilting at a frame, where I used to stand up. It adjusts high enough for this use and is very comfortable. It rolls easily down the frame as I quilt. (Floor is commercial carpet.) I no longer have an aching back from bending over even slightly to work, which was common in the past. Easier on the feet too. Don't know
works great, easy to assemble and use
THis chair was purchased to use at my long arm quilting frame. With it's adjustable tilting seat, it allows me to keep my feet on the floor yet take the weight off my legs a bit - helps with back strain when I bend over the frame as well. Rolls nicely, could use some more padding, but with frequent breaks is fine. Will take a bit of time to manage a graceful mount and dismount system:-)
This is a great budget saddle-seat chair. I sit at a high counter at work, and I replaced my very uncomfortable drafting-style chair with this, and have been quite happy with it. It took some getting used to, of course, but now I can sit for hours on it. It does get uncomfortable after several hours usually at the end of a long day. But I also wanted a chair that would make me get up and move around, and this does that, too. Overall, a great chair.
The Box arrived a WalMart on schedule. A hole was in the box. When I got home and opened the box the pole that the seat attaches to was missing. Had to drive over 37 miles to the store (again) to return it. So much for ordering on line.
