We got this drum set for my 12 year old son for Christmas and we have been thrilled with it so far. Everything is solidly constructed and the drums all have standard sized heads. The size is just right for our 6th grader who is taking beginner percussion at school, and the entire set cost lest than the snare and bells we had to purchase for his band class. The only part of the set I haven't been totally thrilled with is the drum stool. It is a little undersized and wobbly when extended as tall as it gets, but the drums themselves are a great size for a teenager to learn on, and the stool is a bit of a bonus at this price anyway. I would definitely recommend this drum set to anyone looking to buy a starter set for any age. If you are getting it for an adult or a bigger than average teenager, plan on picking up a new drum stool.

The instructions were awful. If you didn't know anything about drums you will not be happy with the instructions. Had to get someone that played the drums to put it together.
