Chainsaw worked efficiently cutting through 14"diameter trees. Chain came loose a few times at first. Was very easy to fit back on bar and tighten knob. Had to sharpen the chain once but I was cutting out roots and I'm sure chain got into some dirt and even rock. Excellent saw.
I bought the Worx - 8.0 Amp 14 inch chainsaw to cut up firewood. I have a bad back and can't handle a full-fledged gas-powered chainsaw. This chainsaw is light weight, easy to handle, and very efficient. I have cut up two years worth of firewood within one month.
I love this tool. I've never used a chainsaw before. This was very easy to use and worked great. My 16yr old son liked using it as well. We trimmed tree branches that were touching the roof of my house and this one got the job done in a matter of minutes. I would recommend.
I bought this saw last month. It was delivered on time and came well packaged. The start up instructions were easy to follow and it took only a few minutes to fill it with chain oil and grease the bearing at the tip of the chain. It's easy to operate and makes a nice cut. This is a very affordable product for the average homeowner who is looking for a chain saw for quick and efficient tree trimming, etc.
I bought the 8.0 amp WORX14 inch chainsaw to use in my yard to remove some small shrubs. Imagine the power I felt when I used it for the first time I'd ever used a chainsaw. I threw the chain off after about 15 minutes because I hadn't tighten it enough before using. I was able to put the chain on by myself without anyone else's help. Being able to do the work I want was so fulfilling. Watch me as I build my tools up with more WORX tools.(I already have the blower/mulcher vacuum and I love it). By the way, I am a 5'4" lady weighting 145 lbs. who is 65 years old.
I prefer gas powered tools for lawn and garden, so I was a little hesitant to pick this up. I was very pleasantly surprised with this piece of equipment. Opening the box, it was easy to install the bar and chain (the only assembly required). I filled the bar oil tank, pumped the bulb a couple of times to lubricate the bar, plugged it in and started cutting. This little saw was capable and sharp. I used this saw to take down and limb an apple tree that had a diameter within 1" of the saw's bar length (14 inches). The chain remained sharp through the entire operation. I would recommend this saw to any homeowner that needs a small chainsaw for occasional use. At less than $50, it is a bargain for the performance provided.
I have previously lived on large properties, even one where I regularly cut two large trees each week for winter fuel, so I have been trained in and used chainsaws a lot. I'm now in suburban Florida on a small lot, but when we saw a hurricane coming we decided that a chainsaw might be useful. Instead of forking out well over $100 for a regular gas machine like I had used before, we decided to save money and get this for less than $50 - we have a generator, so it would still be useful after a hurricane even if we lost power. Hurricane Matthew came and went, and we were fortunately spared major impact. But I still lost most of one tree and two banana trees. This product was just the job for clear up, cutting the trunks and branches into manageable pieces. I can't imagine how long it would have taken by manual means. For less than $50, it's great to have around for insurance - though I hope it's a while before I need it again!
It isn't always the man of the house that does the pruning of bushes and trees - I bought the chainsaw for myself and I love it. It is lightweight, easy to use, easy to clean and it works fabulously --- the WORX tools are the best - my husband and I are replacing any tool WORX makes with the brand we now have!
I dont know that "how the heck a company thinks and put plastic gear for chains to rotate and now I'm end up buying better one" .Not worx any more . its last less than three months after all I wont recommend to buy if you do not care reliability
I bought a 14" electric chainsaw a few weeks ago. On the plus side, it does work pretty well from a cutting standpoint. Surprisingly powerful and a good alternative to a petrol saw when you are working close to the house. Unfortunately, the downside is it leaks bar oil like a sieve. I did read a few reviews that noted leaking bar oil but it wasn't all that many so I figured I'd take a chance. But it didn't work. It leaks bar oil really badly, more than I've ever seen anything leak oil before. absolutely if I had known this was going to be the case then I would not have bought it. The attached photo is the saw sitting on a oil drip pan, I can not leave the saw on any surface. The amount may not look like a lot but it's from the cold saw just sitting and dripping. When it's actually running the amount is a great deal more, it goes all over the floor and will get onto whatever you are wearing. So, if you can get one that doesn't leak then it's going to be great, the issue as far as I can see however if you have no way of knowing in advance. I would recommend you consider other saws under the circumstances.
