I felt like this was easy to operate. My 4 year old can do it pretty well. However, Wowee advertised it as playing 2 games and made the games seem way more exciting than they really are. The games the robot plays are a little lame. Overall my kids were happy with it. I do like the tribot better. It's wheels are more manueverable and it has more personality than this robot. Walmart shipped it immediately and we received it in 2 days. I was very impressed!
This was the one gift my son wanted desperately for Christmas and he was thrilled to see it under the tree. It was definitely worth the price for his excitement and he played with it the first couple of days, but hasn't touched it since. I guess once he saw what all it could do it lost its appeal. It is exciting at first, but afterward everything gets repetitive. It was a good buy for us, because it was very much enjoyed and still gets played with once in awhile, but I would warn others that once the novelty wears off (which is pretty fast) it may not get played with very much.
My 3 year old loves to play with it without the remote. He likes that it will detect him, make a commen and change direction. I guess he'll use the remote when he gets a little older because you have to remember what each button is for.
This got a great initial reaction from my 5 year old son and 6 year old daughter on christmas day, when it was still in the box. Upon taking it out and powering it up that interest quickly faded. The seek function does not work. when you read the instructions it will work best (maybe only work) in a open room with no obstacles and pure white walls (not to mention standing 2 feet directly in front of it) then it may find you, otherwise it's pretty much only a nice shelf ornament for your kids room. Glad I got this on sale and didn't pay anywhere near suggested retail of 89.99.
This was a gift for my son for Christmas, it was his "big present" and it looked so cool! We opened and tried to play with it and all he does is say "Oh yeah" and barely moves... Doesn't come to seek you like it says, it tries to move, but keeps saying searching and we are only 3 feet away from it with no obstacles... I went over the directions on how to play with it and still no success. I need to call the manufactures because the box was unfortunately thrown away and see what they say... This toy was a huge disappointment; I would not recommend you buy this...... I will update you on the progress of their customer service...
