The CRW2100 series supports 12x-16x Partial CAV writing to CD-R media, enabling significant increase in the data transfer rates while minimizing the load increase to the drive's mechanism and maximizing writing quality. Also, this P-CAV mode is useful for on-the-fly, disc-to-disc copying because most CD-ROM drives use CAV.
