This instrument has a lot of capability. Basically can play any type of drums you want. The internal speakers don't sound as good to me as listening through headphones. Can also be played through an amp by connecting it to headphone jack.
Both my husband & teenage son each recieved one of these electronic drum machines for Christmas. It is enjoyable to watch them compete for who can come up with the best sounds or songs. When they aren't competing and the are drumming solo you can have some peace in the house by asking them to wear headphones! They're also handy when they need to drum in a group setting, much easier to haul around than a full set of drums!
