Johnny Cash: The Man in Black documents the career and life of the revered country-music performer. The film touches upon his boyhood and the sad death of his brother, comments upon his time in the military, and spends a good deal of time discussing how he rose to international fame on the strength of such legendary songs as Folsom Prison Blues," "Walk the Line," and "Ring of Fire." Complete story of the battle in the Pacific. Over 17 hours of combat footage, on land, air and sea. Exclusive WWII Combat Veteran Interviews. Approximately. 1,064 Min.
Frequently referred to as the "second front" of World War II, the events that transpired in the Pacific between 1941 and 1945 found thousands of American soldiers taking to the skies and oceans to fight the Japanese. Japan assumed a quick and easy victory against the Americans, but grossly underestimated the power and strength of the United States Armed Forces - a fact proven by multiple Allied victories in such locales as Iwo Jima, Midway and Peleliu. This documentary set provides a sweeping chronicle of the entire Pacific campaign, touching on such events as Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Peleliu and Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. The material draws on resources including archival combat footage, recollections by various veterans, and much more.

This box set actually constitutes a two-pack, featuring a pair of thematically-related documentaries. It opens with The War in Afghanistan, billed as the most comprehensive and up-to-date chronicle of the post-9/11 'War on Terror.' This 2010 documentary examines the roots of the Afghanistan and Iraqi wars, beginning with the Islamic Revolution of the late 1970s, and moving through various pivotal Middle Eastern events that led up to the September 11th attacks, the rise of the Taliban armies in Afghanistan and America's decision to wage war against Al-Qaeda. The war itself emerges onscreen via archival footage of ground operations and air strikes, the now legendary battles in Kandahar and Marja, and much more - all of which helped further the U.S. goal of liberating the Afghan people from Al-Qaeda and helping to capture terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden. The second half of the box set, a documentary film titled America's Secret Weapons - Desert Storm and Beyond, reviews some of the high-precision weaponry developed as a direct result of military activities in Operation Desert Storm. The program ventures inside of a top-secret weapons testing facility in China Lake, California, where military experts speak candidly about the cutting edge work being done with F-18s, Harrier Jets, EA-6 Prowlers, and much more .

The truth be told and this amazing collection pulls the covers off America's operations during WWII and reveals the top secret, once classified information that was used to supply commanding generals and their respective staffs. This all-inclusive set offers a comprehensive look in an eight-hour plus, multi-program documentary series. 4 DVDs. 2010/color-b&w/8 hrs., 5 min/NR/fullscreen.
We all th ink we know the full history of America's involvement in World War II, but the truth is far more covert and not so easily ascertained. In fact, the government produced thousands upon thousands of informational motion pictures about the conflict, that covered everything from theaters of operation in battle to the discussion of new military equipment and its proper use. For decades, these films remained out of the reach of the common man - until the Freedom of Information Act made them publicly accessible for the first time. This unique, epic-length box set contains dozens of the said films. Contents include R.A.F. Sinks Tirpitz, School for Jungle Life, Naval Battles of the Philippines, Ormoc Landings and much more.
