Music for Little People presents the 1st in it's new UNI Verses series honoring the Hispanic culture and it's increasing influence in our society. For this bilingual presentation of classic children's sing-a-longs, award-winning producer Leib Ostrow joins forces with co-producer and artist Maria del Rey (Lullabies of Latin America). Entertaining and educational, the set mixes well-known American children's songs with an assortment of equally familiar Spanish melodies.

Toddlers everywhere will soon snuggle in bed, while visions of candy corn dance in their heads; Kid Rhino's newest release is positioned just right to help "ghosties" and "goblins" enjoy a fun night! Tracks include "If You're Scary And You Know It," "5 Little Pumpkins," "Jack-O-Lantern," "12 Days of Halloween," "The Cat Came Back" and more, including "Dem Bones" - of course!

EDITORIAL REVIEWS .COM The fourth installment by the impossibly bubbly Broadway Kids marks a return to familiar territory after a detour that yielded a Christmas album and a set of movie-soundtrack songs. Back on the celebrated street that spawned them, the Kids sound right at home. Deftly and with an energy level exclusive to their age bracket, they dive into numbers from such much-loved musicals as Cats, West Side Story, and Annie Get Your Gun--more grown-up fare, perhaps, than the shows that appeared up on their 1994 debut, The Broadway Kids Sing Broadway, but just as apt to drum up fantasies of the stage in young, theatrical-minded bedroom crooners. The group's ranks have swelled to 20 from 14 (on their debut), which means more fun for armchair talent scouts and anyone hoping to watch the progress of rising stars. Original Broadway Kid Lacey Chabert landed a starring role on Fox's Party of Five and other sweet-voiced alumni probably won't be far behind her celebrity footsteps. After all, doesn't anyone talented enough to take "Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats" and spin it into something just shy of sensible deserve a shot at stardom? --Tammy La Gorce

EDITORIAL REVIEWS .COM They may be "just a bunch of dumb babies," but this soundtrack album from the Rugrats: A Live Adventure road show packs quite a musical punch. The catchy tunes, composed by the Nickelodeon show's musical director, Mark Mothersbaugh, stay true to the character and spirit of the animated toddlers America has fallen in love with. Mothersbaugh, a founding member of the 1970s new-wave group Devo, has grown his musical range from de-evolution to include a wide variety of genres--such as rap, gospel, rock, and reggae--and has created quirky, upbeat ditties for the likes of Angelica Pickles ("Princess of the World"), Chuckie, Tommy, Phil and Lil ("Nothing to Be Escared Of"), and even Tommy's dad, Stu ("A Great Idea Can Change the World"). Even without having seen the road show, Rugrats fans will enjoy the familiar delivery of the characters on this clever, well-produced album. --Deborah Moore

.com Following on the heels of the immensely smart, hip Wild Thing (and a string of gems before that), Car Tunes is a top-shelf concept album for kids. Here the theme is utterly simple: these are all tunes associated with cars. From washing them ("Car Wash") to driving them ("Fun, Fun, Fun"), cars are not only the subject matter, but also the place where the Sugar Beats insist Car Tunes ought to be played. Every song has a danceable vibe that goes from big, bright hip-shakers (Fine Young Cannibals' "She Drives Me Crazy") to simple snap-alongs, such as Roger Miller's "King of the Road." An especially charming component of "King" and the funky "Mustang Sally" is the colorful use of kids' voices, either as chorus or simple, cute background effect. In their previous work the Sugar Beats have hung their hats on an old-school set of instruments, but here they revel in rhythm tracks and keyboards. But of that gets in the way of the spirit behind Car Tunes, which is classic Sugar Beats--aimed dually at different generations. Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again" recast as mid-tempo dance pop sung entirely by kids? It works for all involved. --Andrew Bartlett Product Description As the title suggests, Sugar Beats: Car Tunes collects road-tested favorites like "On the Road Again," "Freeway of Love," "Cars," and "She Drives Me Crazy" as sung by the Sugar Beats. "Car Wash," "King of the Road," "Expressway to Your Heart," and "Hitch Hike" are some of the other surprisingly eclectic oldies on this entertaining album, which may make the next road trip a little easier to bear.
