Sun Exposure: full sun Flower Color: burgundy Level of Care: easy
We call this the 'evil calla' due to its dark appearance and unpleasant fragrance. All in all a striking although bizarre plant growing up to 3 feet tall, the flower a spaethe up to 18 inches long and over 6 inches wide of deep, maroon-purple from which protrudes a long, blackish-red spadix. Handsome lobed foliage marbled and spotted with dark purple fans out around the thick, blotched stem of the flower spike. Flowers in early to midsummer followed by scarlet berries in lare summer to early fall.

Sun Exposure: partial shade Flower Color: white Level of Care: average
This decorative plant has beautiful green foliage with some white markings in early spring followed by creamy-white jack-in-the-pulpit flowers in late June. In autumn, the flower is replaced by a stalk of bright orange-red berries. A very showy woodland plant.

Sun Exposure: full sun, partial shade Flower Color: peach Level of Care: easy
I offer the original strain of this deliciously colored foxglove. It is especially good in combination with buff colored roses, 'Cliveden Beauty' Delphinium and sweet rocket. A nice addition to bouquets. Late spring bloom. 300 seeds per packet.

Sun Exposure: full sun, partial shade Flower Color: pink Level of Care: easy
Another colorful perennial foxglove from Spain, 'Spanish Peaks' is also well adapted to sunnier, drier conditions than the common varieties. The raspberry-pink flowers appear in early summer over tidy mats of fuzzy foliage. Plant in full or partial sun in lean to average garden soils (not too much compost) and water deeply but not too infrequently.

Foxglove, Apricot, 'Faerie Queen'
Perfect for woodland glades and semi-shady corners, the tall spires of this cottage garden classic are covered with elongated soft bells in a new shade of apricot cream.
